CCALC affiliate programs serve children, families and adults to promote literacy in the community.
Collin Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) is a Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) funded program. We are proud to serve Collin County with English as a Second Language, High School Equivalency, and Career Pathway classes that give students a bridge to higher education. We operate year-round and enroll students weekly. Collin AEL prepares adults for higher-level academic instruction and/or skills training that leads to employment and self-sufficiency.

Becoming an American citizen is a huge deal! It’s a process that very few people could even consider making a reality. Preparing for the citizenship test can be daunting for anyone! Not to fear, we’ve got plenty of resources here at the library to help you pass with flying colors (red, white, and blue, that is!). We’ll cover all of the resources at your disposal, as well as some of the barriers you may face in our challenging times.
Virtual English as a Second Language Chat provides an opportunity for adult ESL students to practice everyday conversations. The class is designed for intermediate learners and is conducted over Zoom.
English as a Second Language Lab provides a structured learning experience for adults who want to improve their English. The class is designed for all skill levels, from beginners through advanced speakers.
ESL Book Club. Join other adults learning English as a Second Language in this fun and engaging club. You'll read one short book a month and then come discuss it with the rest of the club. Be ready to read your favorite passages to the group!
