Mrs. Laura Bell is in her twenty-fifth year in teaching and her eighth year as the Director of Bands at Stafford Middle School in Frisco ISD, where she teaches a variety of beginner classes, the Honor Winds, the Symphonic Band, and assists with the Wind Symphony and Jazz Band. Under her direction the Stafford Wind Symphony receives consistent first division ratings at UIL Concert & Sight-Reading Contests and local festivals as well as Best in Class awards. Mrs. Bell was named the Stafford MS Teacher of the Year in 2021-2022. Prior to coming to Frisco ISD, Mrs. Bell served as Director of Bands at Reynolds MS in Prosper for nine years. Under Mrs. Bell's leadership, the Reynolds Middle School band program in Prosper grew from 160 students when she arrived to over 500. She was named Reynolds Middle School Teacher of the Year in 2011.
Mrs. Bell is a graduate of the University of North Texas percussion department with a degree in Instrumental Music Studies. She is in high demand as a clinician in the area, having worked with fine young musicians in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, Lewisville ISD, McKinney ISD, and various regions across the metroplex. Mrs. Bell is currently serving as the Region 24 Middle School Band Division Co-Chair. Her professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, the Texas Music Adjudicators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, and Phi Beta Mu.
Mrs. Bell and her husband, also a band director, reside in Frisco with their two children and two cats. Their daughter Emily is a freshman at the University of Oklahoma where she is majoring in Social Work and plays Mellophone in the Pride of Oklahoma marching band, and their son Grayson is a freshman at Centennial HS where he plays bassoon and marches saxophone in the Titan Marching Band!
Mr. Fowler is in his fourth year of teaching and his fourth year at Stafford MS as the Assistant Band Director, where he teaches a variety of beginner classes and is the director of the Wind Symphony and jazz band. He assists with Honor Winds and Symphonic Band. Under his direction, the Wind Symphony has received Division 1 ratings at UIL. Mr. Fowler received the TMEA Collegiate Music Educator Award in the Spring of 2022 exemplifying the excellence of teaching throughout college.
Mr. Fowler graduated from Texas Tech University in May 2022 with his Bachelor of Music and Teacher Certification. As a tuba player, he has performed in many ensemble and solo settings including Yandel Sinfonico and in the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra! His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Pi Kappa Lambda.
Mr. Fowler loves spending time with his family, his wife, and his 2 cats and 2 dogs. He loves travelling, playing board/video games, and playing his tuba.
