1. School Guidance Curriculum:
Taught to the whole classroom through developmental learning activities
Comprehensible services for all students
A minimum of 3 times per semester
Collaboration with teachers, parents, and administrators
Topics may include character traits, bullying, personal safety, and career readiness
2. Individual Student Planning:
Designed to guide students toward their short or long-term goals
One-on-one counseling services, 20-30 minutes, up to 6 total meetings
Collaboration with teachers, parents, and administrators
Topics may include educational, personal, social, anger, test anxiety, friendships, self-esteem, and more
"Pep Talks" can occur as needed to address a temporary concern
3. Responsive Services:
Respond and intervene on behalf of students to support immediate concerns
Can be individual counseling, small group, consultation, or a referral to outside services
Provided as needed
Services can be preventative, remedial, or crisis-related
Topics may include grief, stress, transitioning events, divorce, traumatic events, suicide, and self-harm threats
4. Indirect Student Services (System Support):
Identify and coordinate resources, activities on campus, and in the community that indirectly benefit students
Utilizes ongoing assessment of student, campus, and district data
Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, support specialists, PTA, community members, and more
Present professional development to teachers and staff, provide parent education programs
Attend conferences, trainings, and/or community outreach
Community Resources
Some of our community resources include:
Frisco Threads - clothes (throughout the school year)
School Supplies - backpacks and supplies to students in need
Frisco Fastpacs - meals for students over the weekend
Frisco Lovepacs - meals for students over the holidays
