Athlete Conduct:
Student-Athletes
Held to a higher standard – we WILL address issues that other classroom teachers and/or administration may not.
Athletes will respect all authority including coaches, teachers, parents, officials, and administrators on our campus, as well as, those from other campuses. This includes athletes from other teams.
Any act of disrespect by an athlete to her teacher, coach, or member of school administration, teammate, or athletes from other teams will be handled on an individual basis. Punishment may call for expulsion from games and/or athletic activities for one calendar year from the date of incident.
Consequences will be implemented for athletes during in-season sports, as well as in the off-season program when necessary (e.g. ISS placement).
Social Media-Both pictures and language should be appropriate and up to expectations of the Student Code of Conduct in the FISD athletic guidelines. Just because it doesn’t take place on our campus or at one of our events does not mean it won’t affect students’ participation in OUR program.
The UIL No Pass No Play rules require all athletes to maintain a 70 in all classes each nine weeks in order to participate. Athletes who are failing a class are still allowed and expected to practice during the class period and after school. They will not be allowed to participate in or attend games with the team until they regain their eligibility.
Athletes must uphold an image that demonstrates positive leadership, character, responsibility, and great competitive spirit. Failure to do so is subject to removal.
On the field or court – profanity will not be used and temper fits will not be tolerated.
Athlete’s are expected to be leaders for PHMS and therefore role models not only in the classroom and on the court, but outside of PHMS as well.
