Gifted and Talented

Hello!  My name is Amy Smith and I am the Gifted and Talented Teacher at Newman Elementary. I currently serve as the Elementary Gifted and Talented Lead Teacher for FISD. I have been an educator for 27 years and this is my 18th year to be a Gifted and Talented Teacher. I am also a Professional Learning Presenter for the FISD Gifted Department, collaborating with fellow educators and acting as an advocate for the learners I interact with daily. My daughter, Avery, is a junior at Texas A&M University and my daughter, Allie, is a junior at Wakeland. I have been married to my amazing husband, Tarleton, for 24 years. I am so excited to continue to build an environment that fosters collaboration, critical thinking and communication and serve the students at Newman!
