Axe ‘Em Jacks! I earned my degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University. I’m proud to be a Lumberjack!
I’m originally from Sherman but now reside in Melissa with my husband Rocky and Autumn.
I love spending my summers traveling around the world learning about different cultures. I also enjoy being active by dancing (spinning/two stepping is my favorite), working out, biking and playing volleyball.
I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to be at Newman Elementary. I hope you’re ready for a great year…I know I am!

Monica Noel
Hello from the art room! I’m Monica Noel and I am so excited to share my passion for art and art history with the wonderful students at Newman. This is my second year at Newman but my 15th year teaching art. I began my career teaching elementary art and moved up to middle school for a few years and then on to high school art and AP art history. I have truly loved teaching every level but nothing quite compares to elementary for me. Prior to teaching, I was a foreign exchange student in the former West Germany where I chopped off pieces of the Berlin Wall when that historic moment happened! I was a flight attendant and flew around the world to Russia, Australia, and many countries throughout Europe. I opened LifeTime Fitness in Allen and was the lead spin instructor. I created and ran a 12 hour spin marathon charity event benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation which raised over a half a million dollars to find a cure for Type I diabetes. This leads me to my biggest achievements, my two sons. I’m lucky to be a mother to two amazing, smart, kind men who impress me each day. Ethan is almost 25, a former Sooner and lives in Philadelphia where he works for Lincoln Financial. Aiden is almost 20 and is in the honors program at the University of Texas studying history, art history and business. For fun I love traveling overseas, going to Sante Fe, enjoying time with my significant other, Steve, and thinking up creative ways to instill the love of art with your kiddos! This is going to be an amazing year and I thank you for your support of the art program at Newman!

I was born in Nigeria and moved to America when I was 9 years old. In 2015, I adopted an impoverished school in Benin City Nigeria called Owina Primary School. Every summer I carry donated school supplies, musical instruments, candy, toys, clothes etc to all 400 students in the school, I also spend two weeks teaching them music. I am passionate about teaching children music and helping those in need.
I have four amazing siblings, Blessing, Bless, Blessedness and Grace. I absolutely love singing, reading, cooking and baking, dancing, traveling and having fun with my family. I spend my free time singing and learning more music. I am so excited about this year in music class and all we will experience together!
