Meet The Teachers

Jennifer Abbott is a graduate of UNT with a degree in Elementary Education. Go Mean Green! She received her Master’s Degree from Concordia University in Advanced Literacy. She has 18 years of teaching experience in 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades. Mrs. Abbott has been married for 18 years to her husband, Scott. She has two daughters, Alanah (5 years old) and Elyse (2 years old). She enjoys all things Disney and hopes to one day visit Ireland. She is looking forward to a fun year! 

Carson Bates graduated from the University of North Texas with a bachelor's degree in education. She attended Frisco ISD schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. After graduating, she went back to her roots and began teaching in Frisco ISD. This will be her third year teaching, and her second year teaching 2nd grade at Newman.. Ms. Bates enjoys hanging out with family and friends, spending time at the dog park with her pup, going to concerts, and staying active. She is so excited to be joining the Newman family, and she can't wait to get to know her new students! It's going to be a great year!

Megan Strohmaier graduated from Arizona State University (Go Devils!) with her bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She later received her master's degree from Texas Tech in Curriculum and Instruction, with a concentration in early literacy. She has been teaching for 8 years, 6 of them being in FISD. She has taught both 1st and 2nd grade. She is excited to begin her first year at Newman! Mrs. Strohmaier was recently married to her husband, Derek. Her and her husband have the cutest and silliest golden retriever named Bailey! Mrs. Strohmaier enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, exercising, and watching movies. She is passionate about teaching and getting to know and love each of her students! Mrs. Strohmaier can't wait for another wonderful school year! 

Madelyn Kauffman graduated from Georgetown College in Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She is starting her fifth year of teaching and her first at Newman Elementary! She is so excited to be joining the Newman family. She is currently getting her masters degree from Lamar University in School Counseling. Ms. Kauffman enjoys spending time with her friends and family, walking her dog, Norman, and exercising! Ms. Kauffman cannot wait to start the year with her sweet kiddos!
