The Grants for Great Ideas project was a donation-based service project which Student Council performs in order to benefit the clubs of Liberty High School. Clubs fill out applications asking for "grants" of up to $500 each. StuCo will give away anywhere up to a total of $4000 in products which the clubs request after reviewing applications. In years past, StuCo has provided clubs with items ranging from frisbee golf baskets to dance floors!
In order to ease incoming freshmen into their transition into high school, Student Council hosts Flight School in August. This gives students the opportunity to experience a fun day of events that allow them to learn more about the day-to-day workings of their new home.
Homecoming is Student Council's biggest event of the year. Months of planning and hard work go into making this event possible. This years theme was "HOCOchella". Throughout the week leading up to HOCOchella we had dress up days like decades day.
Football games have themes that allow students to dress up for the theme the day of the game and for the game that night.
In partnership with the National Breast Cancer foundation, the 2018-2019 Student Council sold shirts and held a fundraiser, Kiss the Pig, to raise money for Breast Cancer research. Every year, students and staff are encouraged to wear pink to the football game and all day on Friday.
Kiss the Pig was a fundraiser that was a part of Pink out this year. Students got to donate money to benefit the National Breast Cancer foundation, while choosing a teacher to kiss a pig during the Pink out pep-rally.
In conjunction with schools nationwide, Student Council helps facilitate a week dedicated to keeping students drug-free.
Student Council collects money for both a Thanksgiving Turkey drive and holiday drive to give to those in need. These events are a great way to give back to the immediate community.
Student Council hosts an Earth Day cleanup for students across the school to participate in, cleaning up the street along Rolater and keeping Frisco clean.
Student Council is hosting a fundraiser event for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society. At the event students who sign up can bring their own denim overalls, pants, and jackets and decorate them in school spirit. Paint, glitter, and fabric will be provided.
