Students should practice their spelling words at home to prepare for their weekly test. Their tests are on Thursdays and the new list should be given out the next day.

Reading Comprehension

As our fifth graders grow as readers, here are some of the common topics that we will be covering during the year. You can use these sheets to work on specific skills with your students. There's book recommendations, questions to ask your students as they read, and important definitions.

Reading Log

This year, reading logs will be given out at the beginning of every month and turned in at the end. Teachers will periodically check their students' reading logs throughout the month, so please make sure they remain in their orange conduct folders. These reading logs are not graded, but monitoring their reading is essential for their growth over the course of the year.
