My name is Emily Barnes and I have been teaching since 2013. I am beyond excited to be back at this wonderful school in Frisco ISD!
My love for teaching actually started when I was a student at Rogers here in Frisco. Watching my third grade teacher love and care for everyone in the classroom made me decide then and there that I wanted to be just like her. I was a student in FISD from 1st-12th grade and loved every second of my time here. After high school, I went on to spend the best four years of my life at Texas A&M University pursuing a degree in interdisciplinary studies. At Texas A&M, I made the best friends of my life and learned what it takes to be an effective and efficient educator. I had the wonderful opportunity to complete my student teaching in Prosper which then led me back to Frisco after graduation.
I have a fantastic brother Travis, who graduated from Texas A&M with an engineering degree, and two wonderful parents who support us both in every aspect of our lives. While they are not Aggies themselves, they like to think they earned the title of A&M former students for spending so much money on tuition for my brother and me.
I am looking forward to helping our students grow this year and cannot wait to see what our future holds!
