At this crime scene you will investigate the spot where the body was found. Using the clues on the outline, and the props around it, determine what amounts of the various substances were found in or on the dead body.
- Examine the left hand of the body. Determine the moles of silicon found.
- A sample of hair was found. Determine the moles of cobalt found.
- A white powder was found near the body. After being analyzed it was discovered that the powder is a hydrate of magnesium carbonate. You take it back to your lab and heat it and discover that 7.58g of anhydrous remains. Find the formula of the hydrate.
- A purple stain was found on the lab coat of the victim. What substance could this be? Investigate the stain closely (use all your table resources) to determine what the substance is and then find percent composition.
