Classroom Guidance

What does an elementary school counselor do?

• Guidance- I will provide monthly, 30 minute lessons that cover academic, personal/social and career development.

• Responsive Service- I will provide individual and/or group sessions 15-30 minutes that address the needs of the students (friendship skills, character traits, manners, conflict resolution, stress management, anger management, anti-bully prevention, communication skills, problem solving, etc.)

• Individual Planning- I help assist students in planning, monitoring and managing their academic, personal/social, and career development. My hope is that all students will be motivated to set high goals for themselves and believe they can accomplish their goals. 

• System Support-I provide support for administrators, staff members, and community partners. Working collaboratively as a team we can accomplish so much more than individually.
