Community-building through the Circle Process

In this workshop, participants will explore collaborative approaches to creating community spaces that are welcoming to unhoused, recently housed, and formerly incarcerated community members. Through discussion and reflection, attendees will examine how the circle process can support communities in addressing harm, repairing ruptured relationships, and fostering accountability. The session will emphasize resilience-building, restorative practices, and strategies for preventing future harm within community settings.

Next Generation of Men’s Engagement - Preventing Sexual Violence with Accountability, Hope and Healing

Participants will examine the impact of collective male socialization, often referred to as “The Man Box,” and assess how it shapes direct service practices with survivors and individuals who have caused harm. This session will provide strategies to strengthen advocacy efforts while centering accountability, healing, and meaningful engagement of men in sexual violence prevention and intervention. Attendees will leave with practical tools for advancing prevention work through relationship-building, reflection, and community engagement.

Creating Counter Narratives: Community and Healthy Masculinity

This session highlights key considerations for youth advocates by building on the skills, approaches, and insights they already bring to prevention work. Participants will explore strategies and resources that support healthy masculinity and positive engagement with boys and young men. Attendees will define healthy manhood and its four foundational components, examine the “mentor mindset” in youth advocacy, and evaluate their existing ecosystems of support to identify pathways for engaging boys and men in prevention efforts.

Designed for multidisciplinary professionals engaged in sexual violence prevention, this workshop explores effective messaging strategies related to sexual abuse, assault, and harassment. Participants will learn how values-based framing can strengthen public engagement and deepen community understanding of prevention efforts. The session will also cover the use of plain language in prevention messaging and introduce six key elements of effective communication about sexual violence prevention

Problematic Sexual Behaviors in Youth: How to Support Families and Keep Children Safe

This session explores problematic sexual behaviors in youth and how these behaviors differ from adult-perpetrated child sexual abuse. Participants will review effective treatment approaches and learn how advocates, family members, and other caring adults can support families while ensuring the safety and well-being of impacted children.
Introduction to Be the Boss of Your Body

This session introduces Be the Boss of Your Body, a free body safety curriculum developed to support Erin Merryn’s Law, which requires age-appropriate body safety education for all West Virginia public school students in grades K–12 at least once each school year. Designed for grades K–4, the curriculum features engaging lessons on personal boundaries, emotions, and healthy relationships. Participants will receive an overview of the curriculum and explore prevention strategies that help empower children with the skills and knowledge to reduce their risk of sexual abuse.
School Partnerships: Best Practices for Success

Strong partnerships between schools and community organizations are built on shared goals, evidence-based practices, and a commitment to student well-being. This session will explore strategies for building and sustaining effective school partnerships through communication, collaboration, and engaging programming. Participants will also discuss how aligning prevention efforts with school priorities and using data-informed approaches can create meaningful, lasting impact.
