Canoeing & Kayaking

The eastern portion of the canoe trail is heavily silted in. It is not recommended that canoes or kayaks attempt passage. For safety, go only west from Foord's Landing. Boaters cannot get to the boat ramp by the Dike and Boardwalk Trailheads by water. That ramp is closed to all except hunters with mud motors.

The self-guided canoe/kayak trail leads the boater into the heart of a freshwater marsh along Prime Hook Creek. Whether listening to waterfowl during fall and winter migrations, watching an osprey hover above the creek searching for a meal, or simply enjoying the outdoors, the canoe/kayak trial offers a memorable experience.
