Attend your next team meeting and get to know your NET colleagues. Keep in mind that there are both team-specific and citywide meetings!

Monitor your email for announcements about citywide training, exercise and deployment opportunities. You can also monitor your My Impact Page (MIP) for opportunities. Some examples include:
A planning committee of NET volunteers facilitate two Citywide Deployment Exercises (CDEs) annually. These exercises are incredibly helpful to put your NET skills to the test in lifelike scenarios. You can sign up with your team or a neighboring team, which is a fabulous way to get to know your neighboring teams.
Train at the Portland Police Bureau's Scenario Village, a "mock town" of 6 buildings and a mix of commercial and residential streets.
You can also look up past citywide trainings on the Portland NET Tumblr. Just use the search function to look up key words!

Some NETs choose to take a deeper dive into a specific aspect of NET Training, or volunteer support functions. Many of these specialty groups have their own regular meetings and additional training resources. For example, you can:
Become an Amateur Radio Operator: See the Radio Procedures and Resources page, including weekly and monthly exercises and meetings
Join the Medical Operations Cadre: Ask to join the Google Group to receive notifications of meetings.
Join the Speakers Bureau to deliver emergency preparedness outreach to the public.
