The Friends is organized under Chapter 181 of Wisconsin Statutes for charitable, educational, scientific, and conservation purposes to benefit Copper Falls State Park. The Friends are further organized to do the following:

1. Provide volunteer services for park projects, trail maintenance, events, and activities.

2. Provide financial and in-kind support for venues and trails, construction projects, and activities.

3. Support, provide, and encourage visitor participation in interpretive, educational, and nature-based activities.

4. Pursue any commercial, financial, or real estate transaction that advances the Friends Strategic Plan, 

5. Facilitate the acquisition of property for conservation purposes. 

6. Hold title to real or personal property and incur debt for conservation acquisitions.

7. Maintain its charitable, non-profit status under IRS Code 501(c)(3) and its federal tax exemption under Section 501(a) of the IRS Code.
