The last day

On the last day of school we played Minute to Win It games and the class had so much fun! (I was a bit nervous because I had never done these games before, but I'm so glad I did and the class agreed that I should do them again next year, too.)

Rotating stations, each student had 1 minute to:

  1. Stack 25 round counters using only one hand (several students were able to stack all of them!)
  2. Place 25 jelly beans into a jar using only chopsticks (Keira was our top scorer, at 16!)
  3. Keep two balls afloat using only one hand (most students got to about 10 seconds before one hit the ground, then a few students impressed us with 20-30 seconds, and then Lily blew us all away when she kept both balloons afloat for the full 60 seconds!)
  4. Pop as many bubbles as they could (this was the silliest and made us all laugh at ourselves!)

The counters. They were slippery, and sometimes the whole pile would come toppling down.

The jelly beans. If your child comes home and asks for chopsticks practice, now you'll know why :)

And the balloon game. There were several different interesting strategies, but Lily's gentle approach got her the full 60 seconds!

Bubbles! I love that they could just laugh at themselves during this game! It was so silly!
