Refelctive thoughts
I used to think perhaps university study does not suit me, that shall explain why my first 2 years of learning was painful. However, finishing my year 3 study was happiness and satisfaction. What I needed was not switching school or changing a major, but a different perspective of learning.
It is the essence of learning I find most interesting. There are a lot of pursuits in life which have a saturation point: A hungry person can eat only that much food; A lonely person can get only that much of companionship. Curiosity does not work in this way, “The more one learns, the greater the craving to learn more”. There is no saturation point in learning, better one gets, we then can see more left for us to learn and improve.
At my final year of university, there are two important projects going on: Honours Project and Attachment Internship.
I persuade my language study through working on a research in Psycholinguistics, which can allow me to look deeper into Japanese language from my major subject.
The main proposal of my internship is bringing positive education to secondary school students. My discovery in becoming an Active learner have changed me in different perspectives, and I am hoping that I could also share these strategies with my students.
There are so much joy and happiness to get from learning, it would be my biggest hope if more students and people can get back to the driver’s seat and see the view through active learning.
