Title: Promoting Parent-Child Ice-Skating Skill Development Through Instagram-Based Mini-Games
Abstract
Purposes: This project evaluates the effectiveness of Instagram-based mini-games in improving ice-skating skills and parent-child bonding among all class families in Hong Kong. With traditional ice-skating lessons costing up to HKD 300 - 600 per session, financial barriers limit skill accessibility. This study aims to provide a low-cost, interactive alternative to foster foundational skills (e.g. balance, turning) and familial engagement. Methodology: An Instagram account (iceskating_gamebased.learning) was developed, offering eight mini-games divided into two phases: Phase 1 (“Building children’s basic skills”) introduced three less-interactive games (e.g., “Shopping Day” for forward skating skills), while Phase 2 (“strengthening skills with interactions”) focused on five collaborative games (e.g., “Copycat” for coordination). Content was created using iPhone 15 recordings, Canva graphics, and InShot / VLLO editing. Ten parent-child pairs (children aged 3–8) completed mixed-method surveys, with parents rating usability (5-point scale: game setup clarity), interaction quality (5-point scale: engagement/teamwork), and bonding impact (5-point scale: relationship strengthening). Open-ended questions captured qualitative insights (e.g., “Describe moments where games brought you closer”). Children rated enjoyment (5-point scale: “How much did you enjoy?”) and identified favorite games. Results: 80% of children (n=10) reported high enjoyment (≥4/5), 80% desired replay. Parents unanimously praised the games’ clarity and bonding impact, with all willing to recommend them. Thematic analysis revealed enhanced parent-child communication through shared laughter (“His smile when we made heart gestures warmed me”) and relaxed teamwork (“Games shifted our talks from homework to play”). Instagram feedback highlighted accessibility for time-poor families. Conclusion: Instagram-based mini-games effectively enhance child enjoyment in learning ice-skating, at the same time, as a tool to enhance parent-child relationships.

Title: Badminton Textbook by Using Adaptive Games and Drills
Abstract
Background: Badminton has always been a popular sport in primary and secondary school. In recent years, Hong Kong athletes have always had outstanding performances on the international stage. For example, Tang and Tse at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Moreover, badminton is one of the key teaching components in primary and secondary school PE lessons. However, the difference between how students perform before and after the lesson is minor. Objectives: This textbook will help beginners learn the basic shot in three months by using the game and adaptive game and drills that I designed. Methods: The badminton textbook will have different games specialized for shots like ‘clear’, ‘net shot’, ‘lift’, ‘drop shot’, ‘smash, and ‘receive smash’. The drills can be played in a competitive format or game that is effective for training without consistent coaches’ guidance. I will show the drills in graphics and video. Primary or secondary school new badminton team members would be invited to try the textbook. Analysis: This textbook will help teachers teach students to learn basic skills within a semester. In order to conduct further analysis, I will use this textbook to let the students in the school that I coach try it to see their participation and see their reaction compared to the original drills. Also, I will send this textbook to a badminton club owner to ask for his opinion. Significant of study: This textbook aims to benefit students and coaches with an all-rounded textbook as a reference while teaching or coaching badminton.

Title: Transforming Intermediate Squash Athletes: A Multi-Dimensional Training Website for Skill Enhancement
Abstract
Currently, in Hong Kong, from my observation in the Hong Kong Squash League, there are a lot of players who are at the intermediate level and find it difficult to reach an advanced level as they lack guidelines and resources. However, there is a lack of online training platforms that include all the technical, tactical, and fitness aspect programs to help the intermediate level squash player to break the bottleneck at their level. It could narrow the gap between advanced and intermediate-level squash players and create a more competitive atmosphere for Hong Kong squash. Purpose: To empower Hong Kong's intermediate squash players to grow to an advanced level by offering a thorough, easily accessible, and customized online training environment. The curriculum will concentrate on honing technical abilities, developing strategic thinking, and boosting physical conditioning through interactive drills, progress tracking, and expert-led video lessons. Methodology: This online training program included tactical, technical, and fitness drills to let Hong Kong intermediate-level squash players train. The website will explain things in videos, diagrams, and pictures. Those players can follow the instructions from the program and work with it 3 times a week. At the weekend, they can have an online consultation with an experienced coach and provide feedback that could improve their skills and mindset.

Title: Introduce basic concepts and knowledge of weight training to secondary school students through social media platform
Abstract
Purpose: This project aims to introduce basic concepts and weight training knowledge to Hong Kong secondary school students through social media platforms. With the increasing interest in fitness among adolescents and the inadequacy of current educational resources, this initiative aims to provide structured and accessible weight training education. Methodology: Questionnaires have been made with Google Forms and sent to people related to this final year project, including PE teachers, secondary school students, personal trainers, and students of Sports Science and Sports Coaching majors. This questionnaire aims to receive feedback and comments from professionals in different sports sectors. This feedback can help me improve the project’s content and add the missing content that is valuable and necessary as teaching material. Result: According to the questionnaire, most feedback was positive, and they found the teaching material helpful. Teaching materials combined with social media is a new way of teaching, which can help students to understand complicated content. Moreover, social media can help to spread this content to different audiences and increase awareness of weight training. Conclusion: In conclusion, this project demonstrates that leveraging social media can effectively address the educational gap in weight training for secondary school students. By providing accessible, expert-driven content and promoting it through social media, the initiative fosters a safer and more informed approach to weight training, ultimately enhancing students' physical well-being and sports performance. The project highlights the importance of integrating weight training education into the official curriculum to promote holistic development among adolescents in Hong Kong.
