Faced with society’s expectations of young people, the task of 21st century teachers in meeting the demands for and nurturing talents in a changing world has become an unprecedented challenge. This talk will feature a frontline teacher who will offer insights into curriculum leadership. These insights include engagement in curriculum design, implementation and assessment to enhance student knowledge.
The talk will demonstrate how teachers can enhance students’ understanding of local, national, and global issues. Teachers can apply this knowledge to teaching and counselling to foster mutual respect for cultural differences among students.
Ms Fong is a teacher of Chinese Language and Chinese as a Second Language. She is the Head of Academic Affairs in Delia Memorial School (Glee Path). She graduated from CUHK with a Bachelor of Arts degree (Chinese Language). She took her Postgraduate Certificate of Education (Chinese Language) in HKU. In 2007, she obtained her Master's degree in HKBU, majoring in Social Sciences (Contemporary China Studies).
