The Centre of Excellence in Higher Education Teaching and Learning Innovations held its second policy dialogue on the ‘Needs Situation Analysis workshop: Driving and Supporting Higher Education Teaching and Learning Innovations’ on 11 June 2021. 47 participants included rectors, vice-rectors and senior management staff from six Cambodian universities gathered virtually to analyse the needs and the situation, in the pursuit of inclusive, quality online and blended learning.
The event started with the welcome remark by His Excellency Dr Chet Chealy, Rector of RUPP. He expressed gratitude to the five partner universities for their support.
In his sharing, Professor Lim Cher Ping, Chair Professor of Learning Technologies and Innovation of EdUHK, presented the holistic framework and its self-assessment tool for building the blended learning capacity of universities. The framework was co-developed by EdUHK and UNESCO Asia Pacific, to facilitate the discussions and reflections of institutional capacity building for the inclusiveness and quality of teaching and learning in Asia.
Next, rectors, vice-rectors and senior management staff were separated into groups according to university, to complete the self-assessment based on the needs situation analysis tool. Each university selected a representative to share the needs and situation on the assigned dimension in the self-assessment tool. The participants were discussed actively during the sharing.
At the end of the event, Professor Lim highlighted the importance of the frequent policy dialogue to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in higher education.
