Beginning in January:
Teachers make recommendations for students based on current academic standing and previous years grades. FRHSD is an open access district; a student can self-select into the honors level of a course.
E-mail is sent to students and parents informing the beginning of course scheduling process.
Counselors speak to English classes to discuss course selection for the following school year.
In January/February:
Counselors meet with all students individually to discuss and review course selections and elective choices.
Course schedules will be reviewed and finalized in early June.
In mid-August:
Next year's student class schedules are released in mid-August
Students have from the time they receive schedules in August until the second week in September to add/drop classes in accordance with the rules set forth in the student handbook.
Academic Course Recommendations for incoming 9th graders/current 8th graders are based on 7th grade final grades and 8th grade marking period 1 grades. Honors placement is based on grade criteria observed in historical performance data indicative of success in FRHSD honors courses. FRHSD is an open access district; a student can self-select into the honors level of a course. 8th Grade Student Elective Sheet
The Freehold Regional High School District utilizes the Genesis Parent Portal for course registration. This online system allows you to review course recommendations and finalize your child's schedule.
