Major Assessments - Product : 60% [Tests, Quizzes, Projects]
Minor Assessments - Process: 40% [Classwork, Homework, Class Participation]
Four Marking Periods: Each makeup 20% of your final grade for the course.
Four TCA's (Through Course Assessment): Combined, makes up 20% of your final grade for the course.

LATE or MISSING WORK

If a student was absent from class, it is his/her responsibility to speak to the teacher when he/she returns to determine what work has been missed and to establish a formal schedule that is reasonable for the completion of the missed work.

GRADES for LATE WORK:

Work submitted beyond the due date will NOT receive full credit.
Assignments submitted late will be given maximum 50% credit.
Late work will NOT be accepted two weeks beyond the deadline.
Students are responsible for communicating with the teacher about late work.
Late grades are entered into the Portal at the END of the marking period.

AI District Policy

Advanced Placement Final Examination Exemption

A student in any Advanced Placement course may be exempted from taking the final exam, and will receive an “X” for the final exam grade as long as the student has taken the Advanced Placement exam and achieved a minimum overall average in the course of at least a “B-” at the time of the final exam and has met the attendance requirement listed below. Students in semesterized AP courses who opt-out of a fall semester final examination but fail to sit for the May AP examination must take the final examination or receive an “E” for their final examination grade.

Senior Final Examination Exemption

A senior may be exempted from taking the final exam in a course, and will receive an “X” for the final exam grade as long as the student has achieved a minimum overall average of at least an “A-” in the course at the time of the final exam and has not received any marking period grade or mid-term grade below a “B-” and has met the attendance requirement listed below.

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENT FOR FINAL EXAM EXEMPTION ELIGIBILITY:

Full Year Course or Spring Semester half-year course: to be eligible for Senior exam exemption, IB exam exemption, and/or AP exam exemption, a student must have 14 or less cumulative daily absences (including both excused and unexcused absences) on the day preceding the start of final exams.
