Animal & Botanical Sciences Program Opportunities
Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE)
SAE opportunities are truly endless and entirely based on exploring passions and career interests.
Students with an SAE learn by doing. With help from their agriculture teachers, students develop an SAE project based on one more SAE categories.
All students enrolled in agricultural education courses are required to develop an SAE in order to apply classroom learning to a real-world activity.
Students are required to keep records on their project, and are encouraged to develop plans to change and/or grow their project based on their own interests.
Many opportunities exist within the classroom and greenhouse at Freehold Township High School. We ask that students complete at least 20 hours of work in their SAE each year.
Freehold Future Farmers of America (FFA) Chapter
FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success.
FFA is a student-run organization where members participate in monthly FFA meetings where they plan, approve, and organize activities ranging from community service, fundraising, field trips, local activities, and more.
Members also have the opportunity to win awards recognized by employers through Career Development Event (CDE) competitions, and their Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE).
We ask that students complete at least 20 hours of FFA activities on the local, state or national level each year. To find out more about FFA check out their website and video.
