Band Class News

FMS 6th Grade Band

WHAT WE ARE WORKING ON: Students are working hard on making their way through the book.  Our next concert is in November of 2024 as the 7th grade band!

CLASSWORK REQUIRED: Students have a practice log due each week, during the school year to encourage home practice.  This is very important over Summer break!  A digital Summer practice log for the Summer will continue to be available for your students over the Summer, so that they can stay in the habit of filling this out.  It in a Google Form, which students can fill out and submit when they are done.   This can be found under the CLASSWORK tab on the Google Classroom App.

During the school year, students receive 10 points of credit per day.  Deductions are made for students who are off task in rehearsal.    Practice logs are worth 14 points per week, with one point given for every 10 minutes of practice.  140 weekly minutes are required.

Be ready to play every note and don't be afraid to make mistakes.  Mistakes are paths to learning!
