Wyoming Test of Proficiency and Progress (WY-TOPP)
WY-TOPP Summative Assessments - For grades 3-10, the WY-TOPP summative assessments are online adaptive assessments for math and English language arts. Students in grade 3, 5, 7, and 9 are assessed in writing. Grade 4, 8, and 10 students are assessed in science. The science assessment is a fixed-form online assessment. Here's how FCSD#2 compares to the state of Wyoming.....
FCSD#2 Student Growth and Proficiency
A student growth percentile is a number between 1 and 99. If a student has an SGP of 85, we can say that she showed more growth than 85 percent of her academic peers. A student with a low score on a state assessment can show high growth and a student with a high score can demonstrate low growth.
The median growth percentile summarizes student growth percentiles by district, school, grade level, or other group of interest. The median is calculated by ordering individual student growth percentiles from lowest to highest, and identifying the middle score, which is the median.
% Proficient = FCSD#2 students achieving proficient or advanced scores on our state assessment: Wyoming Test of Proficiency and Progress (WY-TOPP).
The bubble charts below show our schools' comparison with all other public schools in Wyoming.

School Accountability
HOW DOES ACCOUNTABILITY WORK IN WYOMING?
Wyoming has a system that supports schools while meeting both state and federal requirements. State accountability is defined in the Wyoming Accountability in Education Act (WAEA). This law takes into account measures specifically related to educational goals in Wyoming. Federal accountability is defined in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). Under ESSA, each state submits its own plan with achievement and graduation rate goals for schools, measures for how well schools are doing, and priorities for the use of federal funds.
School performance levels are determined from a variety of indicators and are calculated to help determine which schools are doing well and which schools are in need of support. WAEA looks at student growth, readiness, achievement, equity, and English language proficiency. Based on these indicators, schools receive one of four overall performance ratings: Exceeding Expectations, Meeting Expectations, Partially Meeting Expectations, or Not Meeting Expectations.
