Our mission is to provide instructional leadership to improve & enhance the educational process.
The Freeport Teacher Center was established in 1987 to serve the faculty and staff of the Freeport School District with professional development opportunities and services in order to enhance teaching and learning. The Teacher Center is funded by a grant from the New York State legislature and is governed by a Policy Board comprised of at least 51% teachers. The Policy Board has one representative from each school building and the Freeport Teacher’s Association. The other members of the Policy Board are representatives from administration, higher education, business, parent, and non-public schools.
