The Mission Statement of the Freeport Public Schools Library Media Centers is to ensure that all students, teachers and staff are effective, ethical users of ideas, information and technology. This is accomplished through integration of information literacy skills, through collaboration with teachers, and by providing access to information. Our goal is to provide an environment that is conducive to study, research and learning, and promote an enthusiasm for reading.

The Archer Street School library program's focus is on exposure to a variety of texts, learning about digital citizenship and strengthening 21st century skills. Students will learn how to effectively use technology in order to meet curriculum requirements and personal needs. Students will also choose books to borrow each library period.

Our hope is that all students will find the library to be a fun and nurturing place to visit. Hopefully, the skills they acquire here will provide them with the building blocks necessary to become independent life-long readers and learners.
