The New York State Department of Education has recently released the adoption of a new law that focuses on the protection and handling of Personal Identifiable Information (PII).
Check the status of the program on the list published below. If the software is not listed, it is currently not approved.
All digital learning tools including software, websites and Google Chrome Extensions (Paid or Free) used by Freeport Schools need to be approved.
The Freeport School District must enter in a signed data privacy agreement with the software provider.
Any software that does not have a signed data privacy agreement with the district will be considered disallowed.
Under NYS ED Law 2D, any software where the vendor that has not signed our Data Privacy Agreement CANNOT be used by any staff or student in the school district.
