MSLA Bookmark Contest

Mrs. Grabke is teaming up with Mrs. Boissonneau to offer students the opportunity to compete in the MA School Library Association's annual bookmark contest. Students can pick up forms and information in Art or in Library. Mrs. Boissonneau will work with students to create a rough draft of a bookmark that incorporates this year's theme, "School Libraries build strong communities!" Students who want to enter the contest should complete their final draft on their own and return them to Art or Library by Friday, January 24th. Mrs. Grabke and Mrs. Boissonneau and other staff members will choose one bookmark to represent our school in the statewide bookmark contest in March. We will also recognize two runner ups from each grade. The winners will all be awarded gift certificates for our next school book fair. Winners of the statewide competition receive copies of their bookmarks, gift certificates and are invited to an awards ceremony at An Unlikely Story Bookstore in Plainville, MA!

Bookmark Contest Update!

In January we held the bookmark design contest to select a bookmark design to enter in the MA School Library Association’s Annual Bookmark Contest to be held at the end of March. All students worked on rough drafts in Art class, designing bookmarks to reflect this year’s theme, “School Libraries Build Community.” Students had the option to complete a final draft to enter in the contest. The specialist teachers reviewed all of the entries and selected the winner by Josie Biddle to enter in the state wide contest. We also chose 2 runner ups in each grade by Olivia Santos and Autumn Fawcett in 4th grade, and Timothy Litchfield and Elena Tan in 5th grade.

The winner of the statewide contest will be announced March 30th.
