Library Policies
Welcome to G.R.A.I.S. Library Media Center! The library is a great source for research and finding books to read for enjoyment. Here are some guidelines that will help keep our library media center a place where all students and staff can feel comfortable visiting, reading, studying, and researching.
Visiting the library
Students and staff are welcome to use the Library between 8:20 and 2:35.
During the school day students may use the library during their scheduled class time. Classes are scheduled once every four days.
During class instruction is provided on library and information use, the research process, digital citizenship, use of Google apps and media literacy.
Students are also given time and encouraged to borrow books from our extensive library collection.
Book Check-out
Students may check out 1 book at a time as long as they do not have any overdue books.
Books may be renewed as long as no one else is waiting for them, but must be brought to the library to be renewed.
Overdue notices will be distributed periodically. Students may not check out more books if they have overdue items.
Students are responsible for paying for or replacing lost or damaged material that they have not returned by the end of the school year.
Rules of the Media Center
Students are expected to follow classroom expectations while visiting the library.
Please handle books and materials with care while you are borrowing them.
Students are expected to respect others by maintaining a quiet, courteous and safe atmosphere while reading, studying, or looking for books in the library.
