Throughout the year 6th graders in general music will be studying the following topics.
Students will play a variety of music using the boomwhacker instruments. They will also be composing their own boomwhacker songs.
Students will learn how to read and write music and gain a basic understanding of the building blocks of musical notation
Students will learn how music got its start by studying classical musicians such as Beethoven, Mozart and Chopin. We will then continue our musical journey by studying some of the greatest jazz artists.
Students will build on their knowledge of playing the keyboard, and will use their theory lessons to build their keyboard skills.
