In this lesson, we will focus on the elements of art and design: COLOR + FORM. Errickson artists will create winter landscapes with a night sky. We will learn experiment with creating tints and shades of a color as well as using shading to create forms.
Watercolor paper ( 9x12)
Masking tape
Pencil + Eraser
Tempera paint:
White
Black
Color of your choice
Sharpie Markers
Create a boarder around your paper with masking tape
Choose a color for your background
Trace a circle somewhere at the top of your page for your moon
Paint your moon white
Dip your paint brush in your HUE
Mix with all of white paint
Paint a circle with the new tint around your moon
Repeat steps 5-7 until your whole paper is filled
After paint is dried, Use white paint to color snowy ground
Add circles for snowmen
After the white paint dries, add trees using black paint
(make sure to paint trees bigger in the front and smaller in the back)
Add details with sharpie markers
Remove tape
