When we lift each other up, we soar higher
Every student at Errickson is part of something bigger!
In this project, you’ll design your own feather to show what makes you unique. When all our feathers come together, they form one giant pair of school wings — a symbol of how we soar upward together!
White paper feather template
Watercolor or tempera paint
Paintbrush
Scissors
Black marker or Sharpie
Paint a smooth color gradient on your feather — from light to dark or warm to cool.
Let it dry completely.
Cut out your feather carefully along the outline.
Design on top using only black marker — add lines, patterns, and symbols that show who you are.
Bring your feather to class so we can build our giant school wings together!
💡 Tip: Try mixing colors smoothly where they meet to make your gradient glow.
Every feather is different , just like every artist at Errickson!
When all the feathers join together, they create something amazing.
Think about how our school is like these wings — we lift each other up by being kind, helpful, and creative.

A contemporary street artist known for her large interactive murals, especially her famous #WhatLiftsYou wings. Her art invites people to stand in front, spread their arms, and become part of the design — reminding us that we all have the power to lift others up.
Our Soaring Upward Together wings are inspired by her message of positivity, creativity, and connection.
