The LDS PTO would like to extend our warmest welcome to you and your children becoming new members of the LDS family. We hope that this will be a wonderful year for both you and your children. We would like to invite you to get involved with our organization!

The LDS PTO is a non-profit organization made up of parents, teachers, and administrators who are all committed to working together to provide support for both educational and extracurricular activities, promote positive open communication between staff and parents, encourage school spirit and pride and most of all, enhance the educational experience of our children.

We are able to offer these wonderful services to our students all because of the generosity of our LDS parents who support our membership drive and fundraising efforts such as School Store, Box Tops, Clothing Drive, Ladies Night Out, and Golf Outing. It is because of these fundraisers that we are able to enhance our children’s learning experience. The LDS PTO has been able to provide classrooms with Chromebooks, iPads, books and magazines. We are also able to help fund many exciting before and after-school programs such as the Winter Enrichment Program, Intramurals and Performing Arts programs.

Your time and talent will make a difference and help us make this a great year for LDS!!

So, what is it we do?

Enrich

• Funds educational assemblies throughout the year, programs – in class such as scholastic news and grade level projects.

• Funds before and after-school enrichment clubs and intramurals.

• Raising funds and donations to local charities.

• Celebrates arts and education by funding Artsonia work displayed throughout the school, funds Donovan Rocks and World Drumming, and the 5th grade play.

• Encourages reading by bringing 2 Scholastic Book Fairs to our school each year.

• Flyers and information on upcoming events

Support & Build

• Provides volunteer support at all PTO sponsored service events and fundraisers during and after school, games, toys, and supplies for both kindergarten and the main cafeteria playground, and the GaGa Pits.

• Hosts Parents’ back to school breakfast, Teachers’ back to school luncheon, staff appreciation week breakfasts and luncheons, family fun nights,Carnival, & field day.

• Funds STEAM center activities

• Purchases agendas and folders for each student.

• Collects rewards for education (Box Tops).

• Partners with many local businesses and restaurants for fundraising events throughout the year (check the calendar for events!).
