Message from Miss Holmes
It was so lovely to see everyone dressed up for World Book Day! We had a fantastic time sharing stories, discussing characters, and talking about our favourite books. Thank you for supporting your child with this event and helping make the day so special.
Learning This Week
This week in EYFS the children have been learning about the story of the Three Little Pigs. They have been verbally retelling the story, built houses using junk modelling, made story maps and thought about what they would make their own house from!
We have seen some fantastic learning this week in KS1! The children wrote some wonderful recounts about their trip to the Sea City Museum, and have begun expanding upon the knowledge learnt on the trip in their History lessons too by researching facts about the Titanic. In Maths, the children have been working hard to solve multiplication number sentences using different methods. New challenges have been set on TTRockstars... We look forward to seeing which class wins!
Also, The children all looked AMAZING on World Book Day! It was so lovely to see everyone dressed up and sharing their love of books!

Non-Uniform Day
There will be a non‑school uniform day on Friday 13th March in exchange for items for our Rainbow Raffle. Each class has been given a colour (see the poster below), and we ask for new, unused, and in‑date items in your class colour. These will be made into fantastic hampers that you could win!
FISHES GREAT BAKE OFF
Last week we announced the return of the Easter Bake off at the Easter Hat Parade on Monday 23rd March. If you are able to help with the sale of the cakes it would be much appreciated. We are looking for people to arrive in school about 2.15pm to help set up the cake sale and sell cakes from 2.30pm prior to the hat parade. The sale will then stop to allow everyone to watch the parade, it will then commence again after the parade. Please get in touch with the school office if you can spare any time. You do not need a DBS for this.

Easter Hat Parade
We are delighted to announce the return of our much‑loved Easter Hat Parade! On Monday 23rd March, the school gates will open at 2.30pm, with the parade beginning at 2.45pm on the playground.
All children are invited to get creative and make their own Easter hat or Easter-themed head accessory at home. During the event, the children will proudly parade around the playground wearing their creations, while parents and carers stand around the circumference of the playground to enjoy the spectacle.
We will also be hosting our Annual Easter Bake Off competition, along with a cake sale run by F.I.S.H.E.S, both before and after the parade. More details about this will be shared in the PTA section of the newsletter.
We look forward to seeing everyone’s egg‑cellent creations! 🐣🌷

Attendance Guide for Parents / Carers
What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
