Learning This Week
This week in Early Years the children have been inspired by superheroes! They dressed up as superheroes and took part in superhero 'training'. They used their super strength to climb obstacles and defeat the villains! They have created superhero posters writing about their superpowers.
This week the children have had been really successful finishing re-telling the story Excitable Edgar’. Last week they made beautiful glitter snow globes and this week they wrote the label and gave it to one of their friends to take home. We also explored different materials in Science and tested which materials made the tallest towers. In DT, the children looked at features of different houses, their materials and how to best join them. What a fun and busy week!
Santa Dash!
A Santa Dash will be taking place on Friday 12th December! This is a fun and festive event where children get the chance to run, walk, or jog in their Santa hats or festive headwear and spread holiday cheer.
Event Details:
Date: Friday 12th December during the school day
Location: The Playground
Dress Code: Children are encouraged to wear festive headwear
The Santa Dash is all about having fun and staying active while celebrating the holiday season. There is no competition—just smiles, laughter, and a great way to get into the Christmas spirit!
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing everyone join in the festive fun!
Warm regards,
Mrs Rigby, PE Leader
Christmas Performance
This year's Christmas performance will be A Miracle in Town! There will be two performances on Tuesday 16th December (at 9.10am and 2.00pm) and one on Wednesday 17th December at 9.10am.
As in previous years, each child will have 2 tickets, which can be used for any performance. This is 2 tickets total, not 2 tickets per show.
Tickets are free, but need to be booked online here by Monday 8th December. You will need to provide the name of the child the tickets are allocated to, as well as the name of each guest. Younger children will need a ticket if they cannot sit comfortably on an adult's lap for around an hour, and unfortunately we do not have space in the hall for pushchairs.
If there are tickets remaining after the 8th December, these will be released on a first come, first served basis for up to 2 more tickets per family.
Please note this is a whole school performance, where every class is included in the show.
Donation buckets will be available at all performances for our chosen charity this year, Mission Christmas Cash for Kids.
Christmas Lunch Menu
Christmas Dinner Day will be on Thursday 18th December. As we usually have a roast dinner on Wednesdays, the menu that week will swap as follows:

Thursday 18th December - Christmas Menu or Jacket Potato
Dishes will be adjusted to be suitable for children on an allergy safe menu.
Don't forget, Christmas Dinner Day is also Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Mission Christmas! If you would like to make a donation towards Cash for Kids Mission Christmas you can do so here.

Nut Free School
We would like to remind parents that we are a nut free school. We have members of both the staff and student community who are anaphylactic to nuts of all varieties. This includes obvious things like hazelnut spread in sandwiches, but also many types of cereal bars and biscuits also contain nuts. Please check the ingredients list of all food items that you send into school.

What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
