Message from Miss Holmes
The children really enjoyed the Chinese dragon dance workshop this week and it was a joy to see them participating. The children were showing such great team work and respect. Carla the Cultural Chameleon was especially pleased as it gave the children the opportunity to learn about the Chinese culture. It also linked to the British Value of Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs.
Please see the school Facebook page for some photos of the children enjoying the workshop!
Learning This Week
This week in Early Years the children have been on a treasure hunt! The children found a map which led them around the school to the book. The children have been inspired by the treasure hunt, creating their own maps and ideas for what might be found in the treasure chest.
What a fantastic week it’s been in KS1! The children have worked incredibly hard and shown such enthusiasm across all areas of learning.
One highlight has been our role play area, which transformed into a busy ticket office for London landmarks. The children fully immersed themselves in their roles, using wonderful imagination, rich vocabulary and brilliant teamwork as they sold tickets, planned journeys, and welcomed visitors.
We’ve also been so proud of the resilience the children have shown in maths, particularly when learning to tell the time. Understanding the hands of a clock can be tricky but the children approached the challenge with resilience and curiosity, making great progress as the week went on. Well done!
We are currently quite short of volunteers for the KS1 trip to SeaCity Museum on Thursday 26th February. If you have a DBS with us and would like to help, please get in touch with the office - even if your child is not on the trip!
Parents Evenings
Booking for Parent's Evenings are now open.
These will be bookable through Arbor for Tuesday 10th & Thursday 12th February. Please see the office if you are having difficulties making an appointment. Bookings must be made by 10am on Monday 2nd February.
Please note there is one slot per child. Separated parents are strongly encouraged to share an appointment, but where this is not possible it will be down to the availability and discretion of the class teacher as to if a second booking may be made.
Yellow class will see availability for Miss Emery on Tuesday, and Mrs Rigby on Thursday - Please only book one slot, to see one teacher, as any duplicates will be cancelled.
We would like to reiterate the following:
Your parent's evening booking is a 10 minute appointment to discuss your child's current progress in class, and what can be done at home to support them. If you need to discuss anything else, this should be arranged at another time with your child's class teacher.
Appointments cannot overrun, as this throws out not only the next family due to see your child's teacher, but also has a knock on effect for siblings who are due to see other teachers, and so on.
Please do not be offended if your child's teacher has to end the meeting promptly due to this - each teacher may have up to 15 families to see on one evening!
If you are bringing your child/ren with you, please ensure they do not disrupt school resources which will be needed for the next day.
Thank you in advance for your support.

We would like to remind parents that we are a nut free school. We have members of both the staff and student community who are anaphylactic to nuts of all varieties. This includes obvious things like hazelnut spread in sandwiches, but also many types of cereal bars and biscuits also contain nuts. Attendance Guide for Parents / Carers
What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
