Message from Miss Holmes
Thank you for your support and understanding during the exceptional weather. Keeping everyone safe has been our top priority, and we are very grateful for the kindness shown by our school community.
A special thank you to those of you who dropped in cold drinks and ice creams/lollies – your thoughtfulness was very much appreciated by the whole team.
Our transition morning was a great success, and it was lovely to see the children beginning to feel comfortable in their new classes. For those children who were not in school that day, we have arranged two story time sessions with their new class and teacher, which will take place before the end of term.
We are looking forward to a cooler week ahead and to holding our rescheduled Sports Morning on Wednesday.
Learning This Week
This week in EYFS the children have been keeping themselves cool outside. The children have thoroughly enjoyed creating their own tough spot 'spa'. Its been lovely to see the children chatting, taking turns and slowing down in the hot weather.
This week in KS1 the children have been exploring capacity using water and some of our new resources. They have been using mathematical language such as full, empty and half full. They had lots of fun and kept very cool!
Reminder
A reminder to all parents to please bring back your child's PE kit on Tuesday!
While we relaxed the uniform rules this week due to the heat, we saw a lot of children in "Crocs" style shoes - please note for the future that these are not appropriate footwear for school.
🌟Talent Week!🌟
We are excited to announce our Talent Week, taking place from Monday 13th July.
Children will take part in class auditions during the week beginning 6th July, where they can showcase a special talent. Each class will select one winner, who will then go on to perform in our Collective Reflections, sharing their talent with the wider school.
We are looking forward to celebrating the wonderful skills and creativity across our school!
FISHES News
We are absolutely delighted to share that our Summer Festival raised an incredible £4,779.01!
This fantastic total will be shared between the two schools and will go directly towards enriching opportunities and experiences for all of our children.
A huge thank you to everyone who made the event such a success – from those who came along to support, to the many volunteers who gave up their time both on the day and in the lead-up. We are so grateful for your continued support.
We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all of our wonderful stall holders and generous sponsors:
White & Guard, Saxton Scaffolding, Ferry & Ferry, The Flower Garden, Pennyfarthing, Hedge End Tiling, and Mark Poulter.
Your support plays a vital role in helping us maximise our fundraising efforts. If you or your business would be interested in sponsoring any of our future events, we would love to hear from you.
A special mention must go to Mr Murphy, who kept everyone well-fed by manning the BBQ for the full three hours, and to Mr Hughes and his football team, Wyvern Dragons, who did an amazing job serving up the burgers – thank you all!
We are always keen to improve and would really welcome any feedback from the event — whether it’s ideas for next time or things you particularly enjoyed.
Disco Tickets
Tickets are still on sale until 7th July – please note that no tickets will be available after this date.

Sports Day Refreshments
We will also be selling refreshments from 8:45am next Wednesday at Sports Day — we hope to see you there!
Year of Reading
We would like to remind parents that we are a nut free school. We have members of both the staff and student community who are anaphylactic to nuts of all varieties. This includes obvious things like hazelnut spread in sandwiches, but also many types of cereal bars and biscuits also contain nuts. Please check the ingredients list of all food items that you send into school.

Attendance Guide for Parents / Carers
What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, or your child is absent for more than two days then we may make a welfare home visit.
