Newsletter 15 - 19th December 2025

As we come to the end of this autumn term, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to you all for the ongoing support you give your children throughout the year.  

Thank you to everyone who came along to our family collective reflections and to our performance  ‘A Miracle in Town’.  They are such a wonderful occasions for our school community and the children really enjoy you coming into school.  

 We have had such a busy first term and it is a delight to see the children embracing their learning and developing their knowledge, skills and understanding.   

We would also like to extend my thanks to the FISHES and everyone who has supported our PTA events this term too.  We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful team who go over and above for our school so that we can raise additional funds for the children and school. 

 A huge thank you also goes to our dedicated staff for their hard work and commitment in making this term so special.  

On behalf of the whole Freegrounds Infants team, we hope you a joyful and restful break, wish you a Happy New Year and look forward to welcoming you back in 2026!

Early Years

Key Stage One

We are pleased to share with you that you have all helped us to raise an incredible £9486.03 in the autumn term. This is an incredible start to the year and we are excited to put this money towards things that will benefit all children in the school. We are looking forward to starting the work on the pond area very soon and sharing the progress with you. 

Attached are dates for your diary. More information will follow in January, but in the meantime make a note of them in your diary so that you don't miss out! 

We want to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone for all your continued support at all our events in the autumn term and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming events in the spring term. 

We hope you all have a restful Christmas break and at any point you are at Tesco Tanhouse Lane, Tesco St Lukes or Tesco Bursledon please do not forget to pop a blue token in our collection!! Saints Foundation football club (Tuesday & Thursday, Y1 & Y2)

Zumba & Funky Play Bricks (Wednesday)

What YOU must do:

Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.

Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.

If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.

If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!

What WE will do:

Check your child’s attendance every day.

Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.

Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.

If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
