Merry Christmas!
As we come to the end of this autumn term, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to you all for the ongoing support you give your children throughout the year.
Thank you to everyone who came along to our family collective reflections and to our performance ‘A Miracle in Town’. They are such a wonderful occasions for our school community and the children really enjoy you coming into school.
We have had such a busy first term and it is a delight to see the children embracing their learning and developing their knowledge, skills and understanding.
We would also like to extend my thanks to the FISHES and everyone who has supported our PTA events this term too. We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful team who go over and above for our school so that we can raise additional funds for the children and school.
A huge thank you also goes to our dedicated staff for their hard work and commitment in making this term so special.
On behalf of the whole Freegrounds Infants team, we hope you a joyful and restful break, wish you a Happy New Year and look forward to welcoming you back in 2026!
From Ms Riches and Miss Holmes
Learning This Week
In the run up to the end of term, EYFS have been busy writing Christmas lists, and making their own place mats for the Christmas lunch!
We are so proud of how well they performed "It's A Miracle!" and of how far they have come since September!
In KS1 this week the children have been exploring the concept of Angels in RE. The children explored their own interpretations of what an angel may look like, their role and where they live. We then explored this further of how angels are seen in the story of the Nativity, Christmas cards, and carols. They created a piece of artwork to show how angels are represented.
Cash For Kids Mission Christmas
Thank you so much for your generous donations of toys, which were collected last week!
We also raised £331.64 through our donation buckets at the Christmas performances, and also through Christmas Jumper Day! Thank you so much for your kindness and support!

Nut Free School
We would like to remind parents that we are a nut free school. We have members of both the staff and student community who are anaphylactic to nuts of all varieties. This includes obvious things like hazelnut spread in sandwiches, but also many types of cereal bars and biscuits also contain nuts. Please check the ingredients list of all food items that you send into school.

Attendance Guide for Parents / Carers
What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
