Message from Miss Holmes
It’s been another wonderfully busy week, with children working hard in class to demonstrate our school values.
It has also been lovely to see our value of respect celebrated in the lunch hall through the introduction of our new ‘Top Table’. Lunchtime staff have been busy positively noticing who is showing real independence with their cutting skills and who is demonstrating excellent table manners. The children have risen to the challenge brilliantly, and it has been a joy to recognise their efforts.
I would also like to say a huge thank you to all families for your generous contributions to the Rainbow Raffle for our Easter Fayre hampers. Your support makes such a difference, and we are incredibly grateful.
Learning This Week
This week in Early Years, the children have been celebrating spring! They have been doing observational drawings of daffodils and have enjoyed seeing them open over the week. As part of their learning in R.E, the children have also been discussing eggs and how they represent new life. The children all explained what eggs represent for them.
This week the children have loved computing, where they learned the story of Digital Duck and created their own posters showing how to stay safe online. They have also really enjoyed using oil pastels to bring their Titanic sketches to life. Exploring paintings that look just like photographs has truly captured the children’s curiosity and left them wondering how the artists achieved such amazing effects.
Scooters on the Playground
Please can we remind you that children should not be riding their bikes / scooters around the playground - a child was knocked over last week by another child who sped past on their scooter, and it is for everyone's safety that we ask you to wait until you are off school grounds before you allow your child to ride or scoot.

FISHES News
Thank you for all you kind donations this morning for our rainbow raffle. This evening we will be putting them together into fabulous hampers ready or the Easter Fayre raffle.
The response to signing up to volunteer for the Easter fayre has been amazing, thank you. All slots are filled now ... apart from the BBQ and serving food. If you are happy to cook bacon and eggs on the BBQ or serve the food please do sign up https://volunteersignup.org/RP8JY I think this will then have been the most successful sign up we have had prior to an event!!!
FISHES GREAT BAKE OFF
We do not currently have any volunteers to help serve cakes at the Easter hat parade. If you are able to spare any time before or after the hat parade that would be amazing. We would need help to set up at about 2.00 and to sell cakes before the parade starts at 2.45 and then help from just after 3 when the parade finishes to sell cakes. If we are unable to get volunteers for this event the bake off competition and cake sale will sadly need to be cancelled. If you are able to help please email the school office. You will not need a DBS to help at this event.
FEEDBACK
Please take a few minutes to complete this short survey on upcoming FISHES events! Thank you for your input.
Easter Hat Parade
We are delighted to announce the return of our much‑loved Easter Hat Parade! On Monday 23rd March, the school gates will open at 2.30pm, with the parade beginning at 2.45pm on the playground.
All children are invited to get creative and make their own Easter hat or Easter-themed head accessory at home. During the event, the children will proudly parade around the playground wearing their creations, while parents and carers stand around the circumference of the playground to enjoy the spectacle.
We will also be hosting our Annual Easter Bake Off competition, along with a cake sale run by F.I.S.H.E.S, both before and after the parade. More details about this will be shared in the PTA section of the newsletter.
We look forward to seeing everyone’s egg‑cellent creations! 🐣🌷
Nut Free School
We would like to remind parents that we are a nut free school. We have members of both the staff and student community who are anaphylactic to nuts of all varieties. This includes obvious things like hazelnut spread in sandwiches, but also many types of cereal bars and biscuits also contain nuts. Please check the ingredients list of all food items that you send into school.

Attendance Guide for Parents / Carers
What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
