Learning This Week
This week in Early Years the children have been writing Christmas lists to Father Christmas, applying their phonics skills within their writing. They have also created some wonderful pictures using 2D shapes such as flowers, rockets and trains.
This week in Year 1 the children have been adding the finishing touches to their puppets. They have enjoyed learning to sew and carefully followed their designs when decorating. They will be evaluating their finished puppets next week.
This week, the children have dedicated so much time and effort to publishing their stories, focusing on using their fabulous Kinetic Letters. They've also been practising and checking that they’re holding their pencils correctly.
In maths, they’ve enjoyed learning how to partition two-digit numbers in different ways, such as 36 being 30 + 6 or 20 + 16. They’ve been encouraged to identify patterns as they explore different methods of partitioning.
Poppy Appeal
Thank you so much for supporting this year's Poppy Appeal in school. We raised £208.73 which is fantastic!
Christmas Jumper Day
Christmas Jumper Day will be the same day as our Christmas lunch, on Wednesday 18th December. Children can wear their best festive jumper to school in return for a donation to Save the Children. Donations can be made online via our Just Giving page here, or you can send in a small cash donation on the day.
Please see attached the menu for children on this day.

Thank you for all your support with getting the children ready for the Christmas play! We are so proud of them!

Here are some tips that might make Christmas a little bit easier this year

Nut Free School
We would like to remind parents that we are a nut free school. We have members of both the staff and student community who are anaphylactic to nuts of all varieties. This includes obvious things like hazelnut spread in sandwiches, but also many types of cereal bars and biscuits also contain nuts. Please check the ingredients list of all food items that you send into school.

Attendance Guide for Parents / Carers
What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
