Learning This Week
This week in Early Years the children have been looking at the book 'A ticket around the World' in preparation for their trip to Paris. They have created passports and have explored the different parts of the airport applying this within their play.
In Year 1 this week, the children have been exploring the concept of Remembering in relation to Krishna's Birthday in RE. The children have been talking about the word 'remembering' and what it means to them. They then explored the religion Hinduism and how remembering is important to those who follow this religion. They talked about the god Krishna and why his birthday is important to remember for Hindus and re created a Hindu shrine. The children has the opportunity to bring in and share an item or photo that helps them to remember a special person in their life.
This week, the children have thoroughly enjoyed sketching their chosen animals, inspired by their writing. After creating beautiful collages or colouring their animals, they began designing and layering backgrounds to display their masterpieces on. It’s been wonderful to see their creativity shine through in both their artwork and design choices. Well done year 2!
End of Year Reports
Please note that end of year reports will be emailed out next week, as opposed to previous years where paper copies have been sent home.
We're sure you will appreciate the environmental and financial impact of sending reports in this way. You will receive a covering letter relevant to your child's year group and their report which includes attendance statistics for the year.
Theme Menu Day
July's Theme Day will be on Tuesday 15th - The Big Picnic! Please see the menu attached. Children who have their own menu due to dietary needs will be offered a diet-safe version of this menu. Jacket Potatoes will also be available.
Freegrounds Got Talent!

Nut Free School
We would like to remind parents that we are a nut free school. We have members of both the staff and student community who are anaphylactic to nuts of all varieties. This includes obvious things like hazelnut spread in sandwiches, but also many types of cereal bars and biscuits also contain nuts. Please check the ingredients list of all food items that you send into school.
