Happy New Year
It has been so lovely to welcome the children back this week! They have come back ready to learn and have been demonstrating our values beautifully - what a fabulous start too 2026!!
Learning This Week
This week in Early Years the children have been on a bear hunt! The children stumbled upon some bear prints in their classroom and followed them into our outdoor area. They have created different settings of where they could find the bear and written lists of items they would need for their bear hunt.
This week in KS1 the children have had a great start to the half term. They went on a 'bus ride' around London to fully immerse themselves in our topic this half term. The children have started to produce their own leaflet about London and can recall facts about key landmarks.
Could we please ask for donations of any scrap material (larger than 30cm x 30cm) and wool, please? These will be used this term for DT. Many thanks!
Menu Change
Thursday 15th January will be Double Pizza day! There will be Margherita Pizza and Pepperoni Pizza available, as well as Jacket Potatoes.
This date is a national school census day, which means that data submitted (like our uptake of school meals) impacts the funding we receive. Please encourage your child to have a school lunch on this day to help support the school!
Parents Evenings
Booking for Parent's Evenings will open at 10am on Monday 12th January.
These will be bookable through Arbor for Tuesday 10th & Thursday 12th February. Please see the office if you are having difficulties making an appointment. Bookings must be made by 10am on Monday 2nd February.
Please note there is one slot per child. Separated parents are strongly encouraged to share an appointment, but where this is not possible it will be down to the availability and discretion of the class teacher as to if a second booking may be made.
Yellow class will see availability for Miss Emery on Tuesday, and Mrs Rigby on Thursday - Please only book one slot, to see one teacher, as any duplicates will be cancelled.
We would like to reiterate the following:
Your parent's evening booking is a 10 minute appointment to discuss your child's current progress in class, and what can be done at home to support them. If you need to discuss anything else, this should be arranged at another time with your child's class teacher.
Appointments cannot overrun, as this throws out not only the next family due to see your child's teacher, but also has a knock on effect for siblings who are due to see other teachers, and so on.
Please do not be offended if your child's teacher has to end the meeting promptly due to this - each teacher may have up to 15 families to see on one evening!
If you are bringing your child/ren with you, please ensure they do not disrupt school resources which will be needed for the next day.
Thank you in advance for your support.

Attendance Guide for Parents / Carers
What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
