Learning This Week
This week the children have been learning about healthy lifestyles. They have found out what can keep us healthy, such as a balanced plate and have been making posters and packed lunch boxes to show this. The children have made observational drawings of fruit and vegetables using oil pastels.
KS1 have had a fantastic time coding with Bee-Bots! They loved programming their Bee-Bots to navigate maps and solve challenges with teamwork and creativity. In Writing, the children also enjoyed writing their own instructional, "Friendship Potions," using imperative verbs, time connectives and a range of other great features. Well done, KS1, for your enthusiasm and brilliant hard work!
Parent's Evenings
Parent's Evenings will take place on Tuesday 4th and Thursday 6th November. If you haven't already booked a meeting with your child's teacher, you can still do so through Arbor up until 8pm on Wednesday 22nd October.
School Photos
Our school photographer (Yellow) have now emailed all parents with proofs of their children's images. Ordering is online only - we cannot take orders in school.
The deadline for placing orders is Tuesday 21st October and delivery is free to school. If you have not received an email please get in touch with the school office.

Jars of sauces
Rice & Noodles
UHT milk
Tea & Coffee
Toiletries

Biscuits & Snack Bars
As always, thank you for your generosity and support.
Scholastic Book Fair
The book fair has returned to school! All children have had the opportunity to visit the fair during the school day to look at the books, and it will be open after school again on Monday 20th October so that families may come along to view / purchase books.
If you are not able to visit the fair with your child but would like them to be able to chose a book to buy, you can send in cash in a named envelope. Please pass this to the class teacher on Monday morning.
As well as books, there are always small stationery items such as pencils, bookmarks etc, with prices from £1.
As a school, we are given back a percentage of the money raised during the fair to spend on new books for our classrooms and library, so please do come along to support it if you are able to!
FISHES News
ONE MORE SLEEP! We are looking forward to seeing lots of you at the laser show tomorrow, we have been overwhelmed again with how many tickets have been purchased.
If you have purchased a ticket you will have received an email from FISHES with an information booklet detailing lots of information about the event (please check your junk folders).
Changes we have made from last year
Extra toilets
Food vans will be in the junior car park to avoid queues through the playground interfering with the stalls
We will have a tuck stall should you just want to purchase a quick drink or snack
Lasers are going off half an hour later compared to last year to make sure it is dark enough to avoid delays
A new laser company which is set to put on a fantastic show
There will be a number of stalls for you to wander round prior to the show along with food vans, a bar and an ice cream van.
Please please please consider walking rather than driving if you can, or parking on a friends drive. We have sold a large number of tickets and there is strictly no parking on site. We have arranged for the car park at the old Budgens site in the village to remain unlocked until 9pm, so please consider using this and walking to the school should you need to.
We look forward to seeing you tomorrow and hope you enjoy the event.
Free Parent Training
Please see information attached regarding a FREE parent workshop. You can book your place by using the email address on the poster.
Nut Free School
We would like to remind parents that we are a nut free school. We have members of both the staff and student community who are anaphylactic to nuts of all varieties. This includes obvious things like hazelnut spread in sandwiches, but also many types of cereal bars and biscuits also contain nuts. Please check the ingredients list of all food items that you send into school.
Year Group Home Learning Newsletters

Attendance Guide for Parents / Carers
What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
