Learning This Week
This week in early years the children went on an autumn walk. They used their senses to describe what they could see, hear and feel. Once back in the classroom they drew pictures of what they had found and labelled it. All week they have been noticing signs of autumn in the outdoor area!
This week in Year 1 the children really enjoyed bringing in a toy from home to launch our Magic of Toys unit. We set up a toy museum for the children to visit and they enjoyed comparing the toys from the past to their own toys. The children are looking forward to making their own puppet soon!
This week in Year 2 was full of excitement and discovery! The children explored The Robot and the Bluebird, using their prediction and inference skills to dive into the story. They created freeze frames to capture the main character’s emotions, bringing the story to life.
In History, they launched into space exploration, learning about the Apollo 11 mission. By organising pictures from lift-off to landing, they experienced each step of this historic journey. A fantastic week of creativity, teamwork, and adventure!

Everything is in full swing for the Christmas Fayre which is now just a week away!! We have some fantastic raffle prizes, if you haven't brought any tickets yet but would like to please come to the school office, they will also be available to purchase at the fayre. We are lucky enough to have someone special making a return to cook his legendary gammon baps!! We have some stall holders and lots of games. We are also really excited to have Hedge End Glee Club choir returning to sing for us in the hall and we also lucky enough to have some live performances from Steve Stokes and Freegrounds Junior school choir. There are still some Santa tickets available to pre-book and there will be limited space to book on on the day also. An email will be sent out next week with more information on the fayre and who will be there etc.
We still have 14 spaces to fill ahead of the fayre. If we are unable to fill these then some of the games may have to close early or for a period of time. One of these is the hot drinks stand which means there will be no mulled wine available and no one wants this to happen! Thank you so much to everyone that has already signed up. At the end of the event there will be a volunteer raffle which will be called at the same time as the raffle.

Nut Free School
We would like to remind parents that we are a nut free school. We have members of both the staff and student community who are anaphylactic to nuts of all varieties. This includes obvious things like hazelnut spread in sandwiches, but also many types of cereal bars and biscuits also contain nuts. Please check the ingredients list of all food items that you send into school.

What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
