Message from Miss Holmes
This half term has been filled with wonderful moments of learning and community across our school. We enjoyed coming together for our Pancake Whole-School Value Celebration this week, a joyful reminder of the values we share, and our Wear Your Scarf to School Day, where everyone reflected on the importance of belonging and celebrating what makes us unique. Classrooms have been buzzing with fabulous learning, and I would like to thank all the adults in school for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to providing the very best opportunities for our children.
Thank you also to all the parents and carers who attended Parents’ Evening—it was a pleasure to have the opportunity for us to talk about progress your child made since the start of the year. I wish all our families a happy half-term break.
Learning This Week
This week in Early Years, the children have been learning about Hinduism and the God Ganesh. The children thought about things that were powerful and came up with their own ideas for things that have power like a God. They were very creative and drew pictures of what power meant to them.
In Key Stage 1 this week the children have been weaving in Art. They have looked at the work of famous artists and have then planned their own. They have used looms and pieces of material to create their very own masterpiece.
FISHES News
Thank you to all the children for taking part in the sponsored Zumbathon. They all did a fabulous job and seemed to really enjoy themselves. Thank you to everyone that has sent in sponsorship money, we are in the process of counting this up and collating the Gift Aid, once we have a figure we will share this with you.

World Book Day - Thursday 5th March
We are very excited to announce that this year is officially The Year of Reading, and what better way to begin than with one of our favourite events… World Book Day!
On World Book Day (Thursday 5th March), children are invited to come to school dressed as their favourite book character. We can’t wait to see the amazing creativity, colour and imagination that the day always brings.
Every child should have now brought home a paper plate. Their challenge is to decorate the plate as their favourite book character!
There will be one winner from each year group, so we would love to see children getting creative and having fun. We’ve included a picture for inspiration—feel free to let your imaginations run wild!
As this is our Year of Reading, we have lots more exciting reading‑themed events planned throughout the year. Keep your eyes peeled for more information!
We can’t wait to celebrate a wonderful World Book Day together and continue to inspire a love of reading across the school.
-If your child doesn't have a paper plate, anything else (such as card / cardboard) will look just as good -
Nut Free School
We would like to remind parents that we are a nut free school. We have members of both the staff and student community who are anaphylactic to nuts of all varieties. This includes obvious things like hazelnut spread in sandwiches, but also many types of cereal bars and biscuits also contain nuts. Please check the ingredients list of all food items that you send into school.

Attendance Guide for Parents / Carers
What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
