Learning This Week
In Early Years this week the children have been really engaged in their adult directed learning. They've loved making posters to help Percy the Post Penguin tell everyone about his Post Office and have enjoyed posting letters and recreating the Post Office in role play. There have also been some super shape pictures created as part of their Maths learning.
This week, the children have had a fantastic time in DT designing and building their own Three Little Pigs houses. They explored a range of folding techniques and construction methods, working creatively to make sure their structures were strong and sturdy. In Science, the excitement continued as the children investigated strength and stability by building towers and testing which design proved to be the strongest. We were so impressed by their teamwork, problem solving and enthusiasm throughout both activities!
If you have not yet brought in your child's outfit for the Christmas performances, please ensure that it comes into school on Monday 8th December in preparation for the dress rehearsal!
Christmas Performance
This year's Christmas performance will be A Miracle in Town! There will be two performances on Tuesday 16th December (at 9.10am and 2.00pm) and one on Wednesday 17th December at 9.10am.
Tickets are free, but all performances are now fully booked. We do have a waitlist, so please get in contact if you would like an additional ticket, or if you are now no longer able to make use of one or more of your tickets.
Please remember that younger children will need a ticket if they cannot sit comfortably on an adult's lap for around an hour, and unfortunately we do not have space in the hall for pushchairs.
Please note this is a whole school performance, where every class is included in the show.
Donation buckets will be available at all performances for our chosen charity this year, Mission Christmas Cash for Kids.
Arrival for all shows will be through the main office doors, but please queue from the carpark gate so that we can secure the playground as usual and to avoid blocking the main entrance to incoming children. We will scan your tickets as you come in to the school, so please have them ready on your phone.
Christmas Lunch Menu
Christmas Dinner Day will be on Thursday 18th December. As we usually have a roast dinner on Wednesdays, the menu that week will swap as follows:
Wednesday 17th December - Sausages & Mash, Veggie Sausages & Mash, Jacket Potato or Hot Tomato Pasta
Thursday 18th December - Christmas Menu or Hot Tomato Pasta (Jacket Potatoes will not be available on this day)
Dishes will be adjusted to be suitable for children on an allergy safe menu.
Don't forget, Christmas Dinner Day is also Christmas Jumper Day in aid of Mission Christmas! If you would like to make a donation towards Cash for Kids Mission Christmas you can do so here.

FISHES News
Thank you to everyone that came along to the pop up shop after school today! It was lovely to see you all!
That is a wrap on our events for 2025! As always you have all been incredible! To everyone that has come along to an event, donated items, given us your time thank you to you all. The money raised this year will be put with the rest of the money we raised last year, and we will be developing our pond area. The school are in the process of getting quotes at the moment, so we hope that it is something that will happen soon!
Thank you again and we hope you have a peaceful Christmas break.
Nut Free School
We would like to remind parents that we are a nut free school. We have members of both the staff and student community who are anaphylactic to nuts of all varieties. This includes obvious things like hazelnut spread in sandwiches, but also many types of cereal bars and biscuits also contain nuts. Please check the ingredients list of all food items that you send into school.

Attendance Guide for Parents / Carers
What YOU must do:
Try to telephone the school before 8.30am each day of your child’s absence.
Tell the school in advance, of any medical appointments and bring in appointment cards/letters.
If you are not sure whether your child is well enough to attend school, send them in anyway as they often perk up on arrival.
If you and your child are experiencing difficulties with school attendance then talk to us as a first step so we can help!
What WE will do:
Check your child’s attendance every day.
Phone home to discuss your child’s attendance with you.
Invite you into school for attendance meetings if we are concerned.
If we cannot establish a reason for absence, then we may make a welfare home visit.
