We determine the carriers you will need to contract with based on your market area. Using your zip code, we visit a Medicare page, and "shop" for all the available plans available in your area. With our research results we proceed requesting contracts on your behalf.
We use a contracting platform referred to as SuranceBay or SureLC. This tool allows us to request contracts with life, health and Medicare carriers without having to fill out contracting applications over and over. We initiate the request for a contract, which then is sent to you for review. You must confirm each request. Doing so is very easy, you will receive an email each time asking you to confirm, you will proceed by logging in using some personal information, and review the contract by scrolling down the pages, and the only thing you have to do is apply your electronic signature, indicating you wish to contract with them. Click the button below to see the step by step instructions.
You must complete your America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) training in order to be able to obtain Medicare carrier appointments.
In order to sell Medicare Advantage plans during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), most insurers require completion of AHIP’s Medicare training courses. Insurers generally require AHIP to assure that agents selling their plans are compliant with the latest CMS guidelines and regulations.
AHIP 2022 certification is now available and the certification consists of two courses: Medicare and Fraud, Waste & Abuse (FWA). You will be given 3 attempts to successfully pass this course, if failed, you will be unable to sale this product.
In addition to the SuranceBay request confirmation, each carrier's process will consist of different contracting steps. We have outlined them for you in order for you to track what you have completed, and you will know what the next step will be as you are contracting with them.
Click on the carriers you are contracting with to find out where you stand, and if you are missing anything else.
Beware: You are not ready to sell until you have completed carrier certifications.
