About the Team

Meagan Funck: Teacher

This is my 7th year of teaching, all of which have been with Rocky Mount Elementary. I have taught 5th grade, 3rd grade, and 2nd grade. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Radford University in Elementary Education. I received my Master's Degree from Mary Baldwin University in Educational Leadership. In my spare time I like to read, spend time with friends and family, and hang out with my dogs, Harper and Solara.

Brittany Jewell: Teacher

This is my 7th year of teaching. I taught for 3 years in Rockingham County, VA and then moved to Franklin County. I have taught 2nd grade for 5 years and this will be my second year in 3rd grade. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Lynchburg College in Elementary Education. In my spare time I like to spend time with friends and family, read and hang out with my dog, Waylon.

Paige Saufley: Teacher

This is my 9th year of teaching. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Longwood University in Biology and my Master's Degree from Longwood in Environmental Studies. I taught for several years at Longwood University and Piedmont Virginia Community College. I am married and have two children. In my spare time I like to spend time with my family, read, and play with my dog and 5 kitties.

Alexis Lester: Special Education Teacher

This is my first year of teaching. I received my Bachelor's Degree from Bluefield State College. I serve 3rd grade and Kindergarten students. I am married and expecting my first child in December. In my spare time I like to be outdoors, on the lake or spending time with my two dogs, Grace and Lola.

Kristi Stump: Paraprofessional

I have been working at RMES for 3 years. I am married and have two children, 10 year old Reagan and 3 year old Lincoln. In my spare time I like to read, spend time with my family, travel and go to the beach!
